Epitaph Records was founded by Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz with the simple idea of making an artist-friendly label from a musicians point of view. Perhaps most well known for being the little indie label from LA that spawned the 90's punk explosion, Epitaph stayed independent even while breaking gold and multi-platinum acts such as The Offspring, Rancid, NOFX, Bad Religion and Pennywise.Through success, perseverance and commitment to their ideals, Epitaph has transcended its humble roots and become home to such diverse and bands as Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Weezer, Thursday, Rancid, Frank Turner, letlive., Bring Me The Horizon, Set Your Goals, Alkaline Trio, New Found Glory, Parkway Drive and many more. What started with a punk rock 7" has become a positive and influential force for independent music worldwide.
